The National Fitness Partners story begins when the Kindlers placed a few pieces of fitness equipment in the family-owned barbershop.

1970s
From the humble barbershop “gym”, sprang the well-known West Shore Health Club in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
1980s - 1990s
The Kindler family fitness operation expanded to four locations in the Harrisburg area.
1980s - 1990s
Early 2000s
By 2005, the Kindler family entered into the Planet Fitness Franchise by converting two fitness centers into the 48th and 49th clubs in the Planet Fitness portfolio.
2010s
In 2016, an Atlanta-based private equity firm, Argonne Capital Group, acquired National Fitness Partners from the Kindler family and provided the equity backing for NFP’s growth within the Planet Fitness system.
2010s
2016 - Today
NFP has built over 50 new fitness centers and acquired 144 Planet Fitness locations during this timeframe.
Today, NFP employs over 2,400 team members who operate 190+ clubs in 14 states and serve more than 1.1 million members! As a result, National Fitness Partners is one of the leading franchisees in the Planet Fitness system.

20 Years with Planet Fitness
20 years of fitness, growth, and community! NFP celebrates its 20th anniversary as a Planet Fitness franchisee and a new record—200 clubs in 14 states.
