Vision & Values

Based in Camp Hill, Pa., National Fitness Partners (NFP) is one of the largest franchisees within the Planet Fitness system and is backed by Argonne Capital, a private equity firm based in Atlanta. NFP began in the 1960s when the Kindler Family added a few pieces of fitness equipment to the family-run barbershop, which later inspired them to open the West Shore Health Club.

Throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, the family fitness operation expanded to own and manage four fitness centers throughout Harrisburg. By 2005, the Kindlers entered the Planet Fitness franchise by converting two fitness centers into the 48th and 49th clubs in the Planet Fitness portfolio. In 2016, Argonne Capital Group acquired NFP from the Kindler family and provided equity backing for the company’s growth within the Planet Fitness system.

Today, NFP employs over 2000 team members across our operating footprint and serves more than one million members in 170+ clubs throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
