Planet Fitness, Harbor Freight Now Open in Elizabethtown

Harbor Freight and Planet Fitness are both now open in parts of the former Kmart in Elizabethtown.

Discount tool retailer Harbor Freight opened earlier this month at 1605 S. Market St., taking a spot next to an Ocean State Job Lot that debuted in March. On the other side of Ocean State Job Lot, the new Planet Fitness also opened this month. Together, the three stores fill the entire space of the former Kmart that closed in 2019.

Harbor Freight sells a wide variety of repair and construction tools, including many under its in-house brands such as Bauer, Chicago Electric and Vulcan. Based in California, Harbor Freight operates more than 1,400 U.S. stores. Its only other Lancaster County location is in East Lampeter Township’s East Towne Centre, just off Route 30, which opened in 2003.

The new Planet Fitness in Elizabethtown is operated by National Fitness Partners, a Planet Fitness franchisee that has 136 U.S. locations, including one off Granite Run Drive in Manheim Township. In December, National Fitness Partners opened a new gym at 1515 Lititz Pike, in part of the former A.C. Moore building.
